Questions and Answers

Q. Why ground sealing?
A. Ground sealing is generally designed to prevent:
    a) Water loss - water cannot permeate the HDPE lining.
    b) Ground and ground water pollution - pollutants cannot permeate the sealing.

Q. What are HDPE linings?
A. HPDE linings are rolls of High Density Poly Ethylene

Q. What is the difference between HDPE linings and clay lining?
A. Clay lining generally depends on the thickness of coverage
(how much material is used) If the clay is not from the locality
of the reservoir site then the excavation has to be particularly deep
in order to make enough room to fill with clay,
and the clay itself has to be brought in by heavy vehicles.
Clay sealing is more susceptible to waves created by afternoon winds
and in areas where the water level changes seasonally,
plants and moss can grow on the clay itself.
HDPE linings don’t need heavy vehicles for installation,
excavation for sealing with HDPE linings is economical,
and the linings are resistant to waves and plant life.

Q. Can sealing with HDPE save me money?
A. When calculating all the variables including water loss
     if the reservoir remains unsealed,
then sealing with HDPE saves a lot of money in the long run.

Q. What is the difference between HDPE and LDPE linings?
A. LDPE is Low Density Poly Ethylene. LDPE is not generally resistant to UV rays
therefore it has to be covered with earth and cannot be used for open sealing.

Q.How are the HDPE linings bonded to each other?
A. Other foils and thin linings, such as nylon, are glued together,
HDPE linings are heat welded together with a special welder that bonds both linings where
they meet and makes them one lining of the same strength and the same properties.

Q. Is the sealing work guaranteed and are the HDPE linings themselves guaranteed?
A. The HDPE lining manufacturer provides a 10 guarantee for any production fault
found in the lining. Agir Projects guarantees the quality of the work.

Q. During execution of the sealing is there quality control and quality assurance?
A. Throughout the period when the linings are installed we work according to standards
set out by IAGI, the International Association of Geosynthetic Installers,
of which Agir Projects is a member.
During installation we carry out regular quality control checks to ensure our customer receives the best product.

Q. Who will provide me service if I need it after the reservoir has been sealed?
A. Agir Projects commit to answer service calls all over the country and to provide the best
and most professional service to all our customers. We are always available for you.

Q. Which is best, working with a small but cheap company or a large reputable company?
A. Working with a small but inexpensive company may save you money initially,
but, in the long run working with a reputable company who you know will be
there in the years to come, will ensure your investment.
